Udaipur

The bathing ghats of Udaipur.

Magical Udaipur.

Udaipur, city of rooftop restaurants.

Udaipur.

The stunning Lake Palace.

Best. Sunset. Ever?

School bus?

Allie in an 18th-century Haveli (royal mansion).

Mike approves of the World's Largest Turban.

Tribal Rajasthani dances. This guy was riding another guy and putting hot coals in his mouth.

Fire dancers!

Mad. Props.

Last look at the Lake Palace from the ghats.

Henna!

Pushkar

Mike composing on the bus to Pushkar.

Mike befriending the hostel turtle!

The holy Pushkar lake (it was a dry year), which apparently sprung forth from Brahma's lotus flower.

Our room by candlelight, an Indian nightscene.
Read: electricity went out at least once per hour.

A Delhi-belly victim. Another day of plain toast and Coke.

Jaisalmer, the Golden City

The cows kept our hostel very safe!

The Old Fort up on the hill.
The view from our hostel rooftop.

Mosquito net success.

A juxtaposition of old and new: 17th century cenotaphs and 21st century wind turbines.

The sandstone cenotaphs.

Al & a pretty awesome Jain temple.

The Jain people refuse to kill any animals.
They wear gauze veils to avoid breathing in any bugs.

And they build pretty sweet temples!

Camel trekking.

Mike and the seemingly endless Thar Desert.

Allie and her naughty camel, Lalu.

Yes, very lame.

A scarab beetle in the desert sand.

On the dunes at sunset.

Sexy Lalu.

Duuuuune, where's my camel?

Sculptures inside a Jain temple in the Old Fort.

Another Jain temple.

Supposedly, sculptors were paid proportional to how much dust they collected while working.

A tiny taste of the colors of India.

Delhi - a whole new world

Day 1 - getting outfitted for the next 5 months.

The quiet, serene, orderly Main Bazaar.
(Notice the cows...)

The Baha'i Lotus Temple, and the crystal clear skies of Delhi.

The ISKCON temple.

Us and Krishna.

A lovely dinner with Pat and Jo. A perfect welcome!

Up to this point, the weather was perfect...

NOTE: This is our final post from Israel! Stay tuned for India pictures to come!

This is the weather that we experienced in Akko. We narrowly missed a hailstorm by about 30 seconds.

Akko

Allie, Caitlin and her friend (name? ...oops) braving the rain and exploring the Old City.

The port in the Old City of Akko.

Stormy weather and a statue of The Whale.

Fish! Allie's idea of heaven.

Chillin' in the Baha'i gardens at Akko. Thankful for the sun.

Near the shrine of Baha'u'llah.

The shrine.

A beautiful tree.

More roses for Rosalie.
