Mosquito Nettery

Night 1 - The Taj. Rome was not built in a day.

Night 2 - The Taj. Hold my hand, and we're halfway there. . .

Night 3 - Cape Coast. Sardinification.

Night 4 - Baptist Mission. Getting the hang of it.

Night 5 - Baptist mission. One trip to Game (Ghanaian Costco) later, livin' large.

Cape Coast and Elmina

Our tro-tro (bus) got waylaid by a festival. This tribal chieftess was lovin' it.

At Cape Coast castle, beautiful and terrible at once. Thousands of slaves passed through here as their final holding stop before being shipped to the Americas.

Obama wuz here.

Cape Coast Castle.

The Door of No Return.

Cape Coast.

Contender in the hotly contested All-Ghana-Cuteness contest.

Elmina. Fish, anyone?

Elmina Castle. Also stunning, also nefarious.

Allie and a visibly gimpy Noah at Elmina.

Day Trip to Aburi

A woman walking through Aburi with a box of bread on her head -- a traditional schlepping technique.

The mountain town of Aburi.

A ripe cocoa seed pod with all the seeds, containing the cocoa beans, inside.

The wet cocoa beans are laid onto a banana leaf.

They are covered with banana leaves for 1 week.

And voila... dried cocoa beans! (To be shipped to Cadbury.)

Asenema Waterfall.

The Blogifesto

This is a blog dedicated to the trials, tribulations, terrors, and transcendences of two tired travelers trekking through trendy towns, tough terrain, and tedious trains.

Some parts transcriptive, descriptive, prescriptive, and proscriptive, it will serve as a repository for lengthy contemplations and immediate sensations.

It is meant to foster relationships, inspire conversation, and contribute to the ongoing, universal human quest to address eternal questions of life and meaning.

If it falls short of this, then at least it should be good bathroom reading.
